Synflorix Vaccine Clinic in Toronto
What is Synflorix used for and how does it work?
A new pneumococcal conjugate vaccine known as Synflorix vaccine will help to protect children against diseases caused by some types of bacteria called Streptococcus Pneumonia. This bacteria can cause serious illness including meningitis and blood infection. It works by helping the body make its own antibodies, which protect children against these diseases. As with all vaccines, Synflorix vaccine may not fully protect all children who are vaccinated.
Can Synflorix vaccine be used in children older than 2 years of age?
Synflorix is indicated and intended to replace Prevnar vaccine in children routine immunization from 6 weeks up to 24 months of age.
To get your shot for Synflorix vaccination call the Toronto Travel Vaccine and Immunization Clinic at: 416-461-2419
