Motion Sickness Clinic in Toronto

Motion sickness is a common problem, affecting 1 in 20 people while travelling. Nausea, vomiting and light-headedness are symptoms.

WHAT CAN I DO?

Choose your seat to minimize motion. Try to stay still, semi-reclining if possible. Avoid big meals, reading, alcohol and cigarette smoke while travelling. Over-the-counter and prescription drugs are available for motion sickness. Talk to our travel doctor at the Toronto travel vaccination and immunization clinic.

WHERE IS IT BEST TO SIT TO AVOID MOTION SICKNESS?

  • CAR: the drivers seat, second best is the front passenger seat
  • BUS: near the front by an open window
  • PLANE: cabin seat over the wings or wheels
  • BOAT: a mid-ship cabin close to the middle
