Dukoral - Travellers' Diarrhea and Cholera Vaccine Clinic in Toronto

Diarrhea is the most common medical problem affecting travelers from developed to developing countries. Up to 50% of these travelers can expect to have at least one episode of acute diarrhea during a two-week stay, with 20% being confined to bed for a day. Symptoms of travelers diarrhea can include abnormally frequent, loose bowel movements, abdominal cramps, nausea, bloating, fever and vomiting. Cholera is a potentially more dangerous diarrheal illness. Symptoms can include very severe watery diarrhea. The loss of body fluids can lead to dehydration and shock, which may be life-threatening. You can get sick by consuming CONTAMINATED FOOD OR WATER. Vaccination with DUKORAL reduces your risk of becoming ill with traveler's diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic E.coli (ETEC) or cholera caused by V. cholera.

To get your Dukoral vaccination (taken orally) call the Toronto Travel Vaccine and Immunization Clinic at: 416-461-2419.
